Mr. Fang Fenglei is one of China’s most prominent private equity figures, known for high-profile deals and global institutional partnerships. He is the founder of HOPU Investments, a leading Asia-focused private equity firm with over $15 billion in AUM. He previously served as chairman of Goldman Sachs Gao Hua Securities for 16 years, and helped found China International Capital Corporation (CICC), China’s first major domestic investment bank. He also once served as CEO of BOC International Holdings Ltd, and ICEA Finance Holdings Limited.
Mr. Fang holds a degree in Chinese and Economics from Sun Yat-Sen University and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. Meanwhile, he has actively dedicated himself to public welfare, funding the construction of Duancun School in Xiong’an, Hebei, and Anjiazao School in Tianzhen County, Shanxi. He also sponsored the creation of the “Fuxi Class” at Tuqiao Primary School in Gangu County (a nationally designated impoverished county), Gansu, and financed a new teaching building, all to bolster education in rural areas.
