Dear Valued Stakeholders,
The opening months of 2026 have been defined by focused execution and meaningful progress across BlueFive Capital's strategic priorities.
In a short period, we have taken on the role of General Partner for a landmark Fund-of-Funds with CICC Capital and HBIS Group in China, led a $230 million investment into Mal, an AI-native Islamic digital bank, and successfully closed our $3 billion Onyx Fund I. Alongside this, we launched BlueFive Leasing, establishing one of the GCC region's first dedicated aircraft leasing platforms.
Beyond capital deployment, we have continued to deepen our global presence. Notably, we began engaging with strategic partners across Southeast Asia as we look to roll out our BlueFive786 platform for Shariah-compliant products, particularly in insurance. We also held our annual in-person Board Meeting across Shanghai and Beijing, further strengthening our partnerships in China and reinforcing our commitment to cross-border investment collaboration.
We are also mindful of the current developments across the Gulf region. During times of uncertainty, our thoughts are with our partners, colleagues, and communities. We extend our sincere wishes for peace, safety, and stability to all those affected.
None of this would be possible without your continued trust and partnership. It was wonderful to see so many of you at our inaugural Shareholder Summit in Riyadh, and we remain committed to delivering sustained value and building a platform defined by quality, access, and conviction.
Hazem Ben-Gacem
Founder and Chief Executive

BlueFive Capital has been appointed as the first General Partner for a Fund-of-Funds established by CICC Capital, the private equity arm of China International Capital Corporation, and HBIS Group, one of the world's largest steelmakers. The flagship fund was inaugurated in late December in Hebei Province.
Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah, the Vice Chairman of our Board, delivered the keynote address at the ceremony. Also in attendance were Mr Chen Liang, Chairman of CICC, and Mr Liu Jian, Chairman of HBIS Group, alongside the BlueFive China team.

BlueFive Capital has led a $230 million investment round to launch Mal, an AI-native Islamic digital bank headquartered in Abu Dhabi. Mal is a mobile-first platform designed to serve the global Muslim population and underbanked communities with Sharia-compliant financial tools.
The platform is led by former executives from Revolut and Nubank, with a mission to set a new global benchmark for intelligent, values-driven financial services. This investment accelerates Mal's goal of bridging faith-based finance with modern technology, launching initially in the UAE before expanding to markets worldwide.

Our GCC investment team took time away from the office for a strategic retreat deep in the Abu Dhabi desert. The retreat blended team-building camel rides, a bonfire evening, and cultural experiences with a focused full-day strategy and alignment session.
Stepping away from the day-to-day was an important investment in how we work as a team. Time to listen, to be heard, and to understand the BlueFive way of doing things at pace, with purpose.

BlueFive Capital held its inaugural Shareholder Summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, a gathering of our foundational partners who believed in our vision from the very beginning. The event opened with an exclusive tour of historic Diriyah, followed by a dinner hosted by His Highness Prince Turki bin Abdulaziz bin Farhan Al Saud.
The following morning, our leadership team convened a deep dive into BlueFive's strategy and vision, presenting the journey of our first year from thesis to execution and laying out the focus areas that will define us in 2026.
2 February 2026
BlueFive Capital has closed its $3 billion Onyx Fund I. The fund targets opportunistic technology and growth capital investments in the United States and Europe, with a focus on artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and advanced computing.
Anchored by sovereign capital from the GCC, Onyx Fund I bridges the region's long-term investment priorities with high-conviction exposure to foundational technology disruption. Initial US technology and biotechnology investments are expected in the coming months.

The BlueFive team traveled to Jakarta as we look into tapping the growing demand for Shariah-compliant investment products across Southeast Asia through the BlueFive786 platform. We had a series of business meetings with insurers and asset managers to better understand the market.
We also participated in the Indonesia Economic Summit. Hazem joined a panel discussion on Indonesia as a destination of choice for long-term capital deployment spanning infrastructure, energy, and luxury hospitality and leisure. We also reconnected with Indonesia's Infrastructure Minister Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono.

BlueFive Capital participated in the Public Investment Fund (PIF) Private Sector Forum, connecting with senior executives from Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund as they prepare to roll out their new strategy. Hazem also participated in a panel on advancing the Kingdom's capital markets and the role of long-term private capital in taking KSA to its next phase of growth.
In the afternoon, the team visited the Ministry of Investment, including a meeting with the Minister and his team. BlueFive's 2026 strategic priorities (Insurance, Leasing, and BlueFive786) resonate strongly with KSA's ambitions around attracting third-party capital, industry consolidation, and developing deeper capital markets.
16 February 2026
BlueFive Capital announced the launch of BlueFive Leasing, one of the first dedicated aircraft leasing asset management platforms in the GCC. This marks a significant milestone in the development of the region's aviation finance landscape.
BlueFive Leasing has been established in partnership with a sovereign institution of the Sultanate of Oman and will operate from BlueFive Capital's offices in Muscat.
22–25 March 2026
BlueFive Capital convened its Board Meeting across Shanghai and Beijing, bringing together partners, investors, and leadership for a series of strategic engagements. The agenda also featured a high-speed rail transfer between the two cities with a curated discussion from guest speaker Pan Qingzhong, Executive Dean and Professor at Tsinghua University Schwarzman College.
This visit underscores our continued commitment to deepening our presence in Asia and strengthening cross-border collaboration with leading institutions.
