Sheikh Mubarak is a prominent figure in Kuwait and wider Middle Eastern business and social circles. He is the Vice-Chairman of Action Group Holdings – which is chaired by the wife of the late Abdulla Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, deputy Amir of Kuwait during the 1950s – and the Chairman of Action Real Estate, which has a portfolio of assets across the Middle East and Europe, Action Hotels, and Action Energy Company.

Sheikh Mubarak is a graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and holds an M.Phil. in International Relations from Cambridge University. In 2017, Sheikh Mubarak was bestowed with the Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur, the highest French civilian distinction.
